The Young Leaders' Scheme is just one of the exciting programme elements in the Explorer Scout section. All young leaders in the Beaver Scout, Cub Scout and Scout Section who are between the ages of 14 and 18 must be members of the District Explorer Scout Young Leaders' Unit. They are Explorer Scouts who choose to devote a large proportion of their time in Scouting to service in another section. They can also be members of another Explorer unit for their own scouting or join in the District Explorer events as the wish.
In Deal District we run a 'virtual' Young Leader' unit as we do not hold regular weekly meetings but come together as required for training sessions. If you are considering becoming an Explorer Young Leader please contact firstname.lastname@example.org and we can get you started.

As you progress through the training scheme please contact me and I will arrange to meet up with you to discuss and hopefully sign off your modules and missions and present the appropriate badges as you go along. Once you have completed all the elements of this training you will be awarded with the Young Leaders Belt Buckle and the Young Leaders Scheme recognition badge to wear on your adult uniform should you continue and take up an adult leadership role.
Kent Explorers hold training sessions and activities so please check www.kentexplorers.org.uk
